Street cleaning

Posted in: Hough
I noticed that when our street cleaners come through they have no way of cleaning the side of the street that all the cars park on. I would like to suggest that one day a week cars should be parked on the opposite side of the street so the street cleaner can keep things clean. Just a random thought. :)
Any other suggestions?

street sweeping

Half of us has spent a number of years in LA, where there is a hefty fine if you don't park on the opposite side of the street when the sweepers are scheduled to come through.
So, I talked with a nice fellow named Larry in COV Operations, whose checking into the schedule of the sweepers in the Hough Neighborhood. Larry said that the sweepers can do the whole neighborhood in about a day, except in the autumn when it takes about 2 days (cause of the leaves) and that they try to hit the neighborhood about every 5 to 6 weeks. He and I talked about getting a program started of having everybody park on the opposite side of the streets for sweeping purposes and he thought it was a good idea. He suggested that it (an ordinance or program or something) would be handled through a "Mr. Roebuck" in parking enforcement.
Larry's calling me back with a sweeping schedule and in the meantime, I'll try to contact parking enforcement and run the idea by them.
