As part of the discussion that Nancy Waters and I have undertaken with the Fourth Avenue Methodist Church (corner of 4th and WSC), it has become clear that they want to be good neighbors. So, they have invited all residents of West Saint Catherine to 2 garden parties that they are throwing in the next 2 weeks.
Party 1: Children's Garden Party; Saturday, Jun 30, 2007; 3:30 - 6:30 PM; games, crafts, storytelling, and free food for kids and parents. Location is the garden behind the church - entrance on 4th street. All are welcome.
Party 2: Garden Party and Ice Cream Social; Saturday, July 7, 2007; 1PM to 3-ish PM (no real end time); free ice cream, drinks, and food. Location is the garden behind the church - entrance on 4th street. All are welcome.
I hope some of you can make it. I will be at the July 7th party (sorry, no kids for me). :) Also, I think that this might be a good starting point for getting partners in a neighborhood block party, as was mentioned by Steve.
