4. President?’s Report
4.1. The domain name of the W46th Street Block Associations Website is: West46StreetBlockAssociation.org. The cost is $ 45.00 for 5 years. Now we have to work on the contend of the website.
4.2. The Parks Department had put up flyers for Park clean up and planting on October 16. This was done City wide. Bulbs were planted in May Mathews Playground by an organized group of parents , whose children often play in the playground. The group had also painted the train in the spring time. They were able to convince the police department to frequently inspect the playground and tell seedy characters to go somewhere else. Christina Boers planted bulbs in the Alexandra Palmer?’s Memorial Garden. She also pointed the poles of the structures that hold the basket ball hoops.
4.3. The Director of the Village at 46th and 10th Ms. Joellen Meckley called Christina. She would like to attend a block association meeting to talk about the facility and the changes it had made to address their financial situation. She regrets that she can not be at the November meeting, but hopes to attend a future meeting.
5. Committee Reports
5.1. Nominating Committee- Hans Dudelheim, Seth Sibanda and Richard Corley. Election of officers will be held on December 7th
6. Unfinished Business
6.1. Date for holiday party and planning. To be determined
6.2. The NYC Department of Transportation has placed signs on 46th street, blocking off a 40 feet area stating: ?“No Standing Except for Authorized Vehicles.?” Directly in front of the entrance to The Village at 46th and Ten.
7. New Business
7.1 Several lightbulbs from the streetlights between 10th and 11th Avenue do not work. Suggested was to call 311.
7.2 The accumulation of garbage in front of the vacant lot between 10th and 11th Avenue is getting worse. Best thing to do is call 311 and/or the local sanitation department. Christina will try to find out who owns the property, so that owner can be contacted.
8. Public Announcements
8.1 Shep Greenberg read the poem ?“HOW TO GET TO WEST FORTY-SIX STREET, which he wrote on 10/9/2004.
9. The meeting was adjourned at 8PM
