The pool is a great amenity that Kirkwood community has. It was definitely a deciding factor when purchasing the home. Just seems like having the pool open Memorial Day - to Labor Day is not enough time. When I lived in New York the weather would not be warm enough until these days, but one of the perks of living in NC is having warm weather from May to October. Pool should be open from May 1st till October 1st.

I think our HOA dues cover more than 3 months of pool access.

Thanks.

Furthermore everyone needs to show up to the HOA meeting  Tuesday  12 April 2011 at the Myrtle Grove Firehouse and demand what is going on with the pool, Mr fred has taken it upon himself to drain the pool, this voids any warranty we had from the pool company which they seemed to have caused to quit.

also Fred has been in and out of the pumproom and doing things he is not State of NC certified, nor is he  insured,  or bonded, or qualified to be doing repairs or tinkering with the equipment, he was told at previous board to stay out and not be doing things and he still keeps on, which has voided any warranty we had with tehpool company.

Also we had Night swimming last season, and i belive the community enjoyed this, especially the folks who work late, that they were able to enjoy a few hours at the pool when getting home from work. Again Fred took it upon his self to stop this too.

THIS IS NOT FRED'S POOL IT BELONGS TO THE COMMUNITY, ALSO ANY DAMAGES DONE BY FRED NEEDS TO BE PAID FROM FREDS POCKET AND NOT HOA FUNDS.

Agreed, the hours keep changing. last year the pool opened at 7.  This year it opens at 8. Does not seem like a big change but I know a few people that would love to hop in the pool before or after work. Cutting back the hours does not allow these people access of the pool.

I certainly love having an HOA. But I think the homeowners need to be more aware of what is going on in the neighborhood and where their money is going. I understand the pool gets a big chunk of this money, but we do not get access to the pool but for 3 months out of the year. The entrance off of Carolina Beach Road could certainly use some updates as well.

I am new to Kirkwood bought last year and plan to get involved with HOA matters very soon. If possible please answer my questions. Are these facts about this fred character or allegations and is our warranty truly void. Do we have a spotter there so when he trespasses we can get him arrested. How has he damaged the pool and do we have an eyewitness. If so I feel our hoa funds would be better used in court to sue him for repairs. Onto a lighter subject extended hours at the pool is a need for this community we have a wide variety of people living here from what I can tell. There is traffic at all hours and everyone knows that  Wilmington has odd schedules for most of it's workers. It is shame the pool isn't open May 1st like just about every other pool in Wilmington 3 months of use is way too little.
