Subject: Katy Road Reconstruction

Please disseminate this information to the residents in the Villages of
Woodland Springs ASAP.
Katy Road Reconstruction
Starting October 9th, Tarrant County road and bridge crews will begin
reconstruction of Katy Road between Keller Hicks Road and Oak Haven Road.
This project is a cooperative effort between Tarrant County and the City of
Fort Worth to improve the structural integrity and the ride quality of this
section of roadway. The construction process will consist of pulverizing the
existing roadway, adding additional base material, stabilizing the base with
cement, and placing a new asphalt surface. The roadway will remain as a two
lane facility. The reconstruction will be accomplished in three phases.
Weather pending, construction should be complete by November 22.
The first phase of construction will begin on Monday, October 9th and will
take approximately two weeks to complete. This phase will begin at Keller
Hicks Road and end just north of Egg Farm Road. During this phase, no
traffic will be allowed to turn north onto Katy Road from Keller Hicks Road
between the hours of 8:00 am to 3:30 pm. Traffic will be screened at
Coffeetree and no traffic will be allowed to pass south of Coffeetree Road
unless they are accessing a commercial establishment. The roadway will be
completely closed at Egg Farm Road except for access to Charley's Concrete.
All access to Katy Road must be from US 377. The roadway will be reopened
each day to all traffic in both directions after 3:30 pm.
Beginning in mid-October (approximately Oct 23rd), after the first phase of
construction is complete, we will change the traffic pattern. The second
phase of construction will begin north of Egg Farm Road and end just north
of Coffeetree Road. The following closures will be in effect from 8:00 am to
3:30 pm: Coffeetree Road will be closed at Katy Road, therefore all
residents within The Villages of Woodland Springs will need to exit/enter
their homes from Keller Hicks or Caylor West using Park Vista Blvd. Katy
Road will be closed at Caylor West and southbound traffic will be screened
to only allow access to the commercial establishments north of Coffeetree.
The roadway will be completely closed from Coffeetree to Egg Farm Road. All
commercial traffic south of Egg Farm Road (and the few businesses north of
Egg Farm Road) will only be able to enter/exit from Keller Hicks Road. The
roadway will be reopened each day to all traffic in both directions after
3:30 pm.
Starting around November 6th, after completion of the second phase of
construction, traffic patterns will change again. The third phase of
construction will begin north of Coffeetree and end at Oak Haven Road. The
roadway will be completely closed from Coffeetree to Caylor West between the
hours of 8:00 am to 3:30 pm. Traffic from Coffeetree Road will be prohibited
from turning north and will be routed south to Keller Hicks Road. No
northbound traffic will be allowed past Coffeetree Road. All southbound
traffic from US 377 will be detoured along Caylor West to Park Vista Blvd.,
except for access to the commercial establishments north of Coffeetree Road.
The roadway will be reopened each day to all traffic in both directions
after 3:30 pm.
Signs will be posted and information will be sent to your HOA representative
prior to traffic changes. If you should have any questions regarding this
project, please contact me thru your HOA representative so that I may
respond to everyone that may have a similar concern.
