Mayor Denies Freedom of Speech

Aug 16, 2002

mayor Graves at the last council meeting denied the right of a property owner in the village to speak before council. Because the owner did not reside in the village he was denied the right to speak though he had followed the rules of council and submitted a speaker card before the 7PM deadline before the meeting.

When mayor Graves was sworn in she swore to defend the Constitution of the United States which guarantees the freedom of speech. What other rights is mayor Graves going to deny the residents and owners within the village.

The mayor and council continue to deny the rights of citizens and do not follow their own rules of council. They enforce the rules when it suits them.
