City News: Weekend pick-up of Bulky Items ended

Weekend Collection of Bulky Items is discontinued after Saturday, January 25, 2003, until further notice due to shortages in funding for this service.
The City of Los Angeles Department of Public Works Bureau of Sanitation regrets that shortages in funding being experienced throughout Los Angeles City government make it impossible to continue weekend collection of bulky items in your neighborhood.

However, you will be able to continue to have curbside collection of bulky items through the Bureau of Sanitation’s regular weekly service
by calling the Bureau of Sanitation Customer Service Center’s toll-free number,(800) 773-2489, and arranging for a pick-up.
