January 2nd Update from Hunter

* On Sunday night, Jan 4th, crews will shift traffic on the Colorado Boulevard Bridge over I-25 to the east side of the bridge so they can restripe the lanes on the west side. They'll then move all traffic over to the west side of the bridge so that effective Monday morning, all six lanes of traffic on the Colorado Boulevard Bridge will be running on the west side of the structure. This traffic shift work will start about 8 p.m. The Colorado Boulevard on-ramps to both northbound I-25 and southbound I-25 and the Colorado Boulevard off-ramps from both northbound I-25 and southbound I-25 will all be closed Sunday night beginning at 8 p.m. All ramps will be open by 5:30 a.m. Monday morning. During this overnight closure of the on-ramps and off-ramps in the Colorado Boulevard interchange, motorists should enter and exit the highway at University Boulevard. Colorado Boulevard will be reduced to one lane of travel in each direction on the east side of the bridge over I-25 on Sunday night.

* The Quincy Avenue Bridge is scheduled to re-open to traffic the afternoon of Thursday, Jan. 8.
* Crews are scheduled to take down the east portion of the Colorado Boulevard Bridge the nights of Sunday, Jan. 11, through Tuesday, Jan. 13. This work will begin around 9 p.m. each night. This work will require that  I-25 will be closed in both directions from Santa Fe Drive to Hampden Avenue the nights of Sunday, Jan. 11 through Tuesday, Jan. 13, beginning at 9 p.m. each night. All lanes on I-25 will be open by 5:30 a.m. the following morning. During these overnight closures, southbound through traffic should take I-70 to either C-470 or I-225 and southbound local traffic should go south on Santa Fe to Hampden Avenue and east on Hampden to I-25. Northbound through traffic should use C-470 or I-225 while local northbound traffic should go west on Hampden Avenue to Santa Fe Drive and north on Santa Fe to I-25. There will also be lane reductions on Colorado Blvd, there will be one lane in each direction for those 3 nights.
* Also the night of Sunday, Jan. 11, crews are scheduled to pour the concrete bridge deck for the Emerson Street Bridge. Again, this work will start around 9 p.m.

On these three nights, northbound I-25 traffic will be directed to exit at Hampden Avenue and continue through the interchange to re-enter northbound I-25.
* Grading/paving work for the temporary on and off-ramps in the Hampden Avenue interchange continues during the daytime hours.
