Successful Spring Clean-up Crews

On April 7 nearly fifty Indianola Forest Association membrs, students, a few landlords and neighbors worked their way from Indianola Avenue to Pearl alley, cleaning up winter and spring debris. the weather cooperataed, the city's Keep columbus Bueautiful Program provided gloves, trash bags and loaned basic tools . Students cleaned up their yards and more! Summit United Methodist pastor, Linda Hedden and Pilgrims from the Lane Avenue A.D.D. houses moved on down 16th Avenue near the church after cleaning Norwich and the alley parallel to Norwich and Lane. pohotographer Jep Hostetler recorded the before's and after's, not only for the Keep Columbus Beautiful records, but to record the most challenging yards and porches on Frambes and Lane and the north/south streets. Numerous comments of "this is a great idea!" and Let's do this again this spring!" encourage long time residents who are pleased to know that students are also concerned for our shared environment.

Iuka Ravine Association member and neighbors also participated in the clean up day . Iuka Ravine neighborhood is immediately east of Indianola Forest. By working together, over a dozen blocks just east of OSU were cleaned up.

The next combined clean up date is July 7.
