Respect-O-Meter: Active Neighbor
Please help our Neighborhood!

Since last year my family and I have been trying to take the high road dealing with our neighbors. New Castle County complaints, calls to the Police ect

Now I am asking for your help. These people do not care for their home, our community or each other. They do not pay their taxes(Parcel # 1003310142).  They are not compliant with the county(Complaint # 200741318). However, we as upstanding citizens pay our taxes and maintain our property. We as a community care about how and where we live but there are some of us who couldn't care less.

Please do your own research. Follow this link to New Castle County's web site and search the Parcel number and Compaint number. Don't take my word for it, see for yourself.

Respect-O-Meter: Valued Neighbor

There have been many posts regarding this address.  I am not trying to discredit any of your concerns, however, I have walked by this house several times, and aside from the old cars out front, I dont see what the problem is.  I understand I may have missed some of the major issues here, and perhaps just noticed the property since they have cleaned it up.

That being said, for the past year I have noticed that the house directly across the street from the property you mention has had shutters hanging broken, waiting to fall, brush and yard waste in the front yard, but yet they have a porshe.   And the houses on either side of this property are far from perfect.  I just dont think the property is that bad and warrrants that many complaints.  Every time I walk by that property the children are happy, respectful, kids just being kids.  They aren't hurting anyone.  I just feel like maybe you should let this go.  I dont know of any house in this entire development that doesnt need some type of repair.

As for them not paying their taxes, I dont know what you want any of us to do about this.  Are you the tax collector?  I personally know that there are children on your street that are terminally ill.  Do you know this families hardship?  Have you ever asked or offered a friendly hand?  It is very easy to judge people... it's much harder to do the right thing.  People generally just don't pay their taxes.  They usually have a reason.  There is generally some type of hardship.  Why risk foreclosure?  The only right we have as a tax payer is that OUR house does not go into foreclosure.

You say that you are asking for our help, but what do you need help with, from the list of complaints it seems as if you have that covered.  It appears as if you are calling these people out, and the truth is that they aren't so bad.  Have you driven through the neighborhood lately?  There are houses with tarps on their roofs, there are people speeding when children are present, fences falling down, siding falling off houses, stray dogs all over, this list could go on and on.  Complain about these violators, Why harrass this one house?

We all have our faults, try to pick your battles.  And, at the end of the day, with this economy, I think everyone is just trying to do the best they can.  The high road you mention is not neccessary the high road.

Although this family may be unaware, what you are doing is a form of harrassment.

A simple google of their names finds the following:
