Now I'm seeing a red head lady who sleeps on the utility access thats surrounded by a wooden fence behind the Valero....I am not comfortable with this....One leads to another and another....( I know it sounds like alarmist rhetoric) but we have kids who walk to Valeroa and the Dollar Gen.....Doesn't that make you feel uneasy?

I don't allow my kids to walk to the corner store, not because of any homeless who might be around, but because of wild drivers in our neighborhood and the rude, foul-mouthed teenagers who hang out at the Valero. I've never had a problem with any of the homeless people in the area.

This morning, for the very first time, the lady tried to panhandle me for pocket change.  The man and the dog have been their for a long time and I guess this is why I felt taken aback at being approached. I wonder if they are aware of the help that is available to the homeless? 

I assume that homeless folk know...Honestly they don't live in total isolation....Help is always available....Heck most churches here on Nacogdoches Rd. have the means to assist...what we are dealing with is not free spirits, but homeless that do not want help because they want to keep doing things that you and I and police find illegal....
