Why We All Left!

Posted in: Town - Country Village
Now the main question is, why have all of us left? As I've mentioned,
there was one individual who was consistently negative, brought up issues with no information to back it up and flat out told me he didn't believe anything I told him. If something wasn't done with his people he knew or his way, it was almost always a no vote. I recently stepped down to VP for three weeks after all the other three members brought in someone they wanted for President. After only three weeks, this person stepped out entirely from the Board, came to my door with his resignation saying he felt he was sorry but could not make a difference with Mr. Black as he had two face to face meetings with him but Mr. Black continued to follow his own agenda. Mr. Black has broken many Board policies (specifically, not working as a team member), our 1995 Resolution on Access to Records, an attitude of mistrust of everyone. Mr. Black has never given CNT or myself any respect and so we could not continue to work with this kind of individual. I cannot condone someone who chooses to work independent of the Board, who has been self-serving in asking for special favors as member of the Board for his five rental units, almost never attended our side meetings (unless given three days notice even though it was very serious), not contributing in helping us with any projects, being almost forced to fulfill his duties as Treasurer because as he continually professed, he never wanted to be Treasurer in the first place and then sometimes representing the Board when he wasn't asked to do so. None of this is illegal but it sure isn't ethical. I feel I cannot and will not work with someone who in my opinion compromises the integrity of our community (and mine) and not working in its best interest.

I had asked Mr. Black to resign on the Board several months ago but he said no. He continued to act on his own behalf, unrelenting in his
accusations and showing disrespect for most of it; and so it has left the rest of us no choice.

I apologize to all those I made promises to but will continue, as a
Homeowner, to ask those questions and makes the Board responsible for their actions. To the Special Assessment committee, keep up the good work and make sure you get all your questions and answers in writing and think of the long-range plan, not just what we have to do today.

One person can make a difference and not always for the best. If anyone would like to make a comment or ask anything, please e-mail me at:

Sincerely,

Gyl Condojani
President
Town & Country HOA

My opinion

I think it is necessary to post a response to this letter due to it's direct, opinionated and accusatory message. In the past several weeks I have become involved in our association in an attempt to educate myself as to why we are having so many difficulties.

These problems range from financial shortcomings to managerial failures to a lack of awareness and participation on the part of association members. The list of issues is as long as the problems are serious. Gyl, now our former president, would have you believe that Frank Black is responsible for the failure of the association to correct our problems because he had ''his own agenda'', was ''consistently negative'', and in general did not support board ideas.

My message is this: Since Gyl's departure, Frank has worked endlessly towards the good of this community. This includes setting meeting events, gathering records previously held by CNT management and opening those to homeowners, reviewing records, taking on routine managerial duties, and working diligently to get to the bottom of the issues that face us today. In all, he has provided leadership by example, which is something that has been lacking. Mr. Black deserves some thanks from everyone, including Gyl.

In conclusion, I hope we can wade through this mess and focus on important issues which we all agree our community must face. I believe we are now on that track, and with the necessary increased community awareness and involvement, we will succeed at creating and achieving positive goals.
