Meeting Minutes 17 July 2008

Attendance: Jodi Bessinger, Jackie Brown, Nancy Woodcock, Rebecca Kessler, Hugh Williams, Jan Hemberger, Phil DiBlasi, Aaron Jent, Irene Spicer, Josh Swetnam and Mary Beth Brown.
Opening ?– Welcome and Round Table Discussions Phil opened the meeting @ 7:00 pm
Review of Minutes from Last Meeting Accepted June Minutes.
Financial Report: Ethel Hazard was not present to give report
Old Business
?• Two-way Streets- Stopped for the moment.
?• PIC: Nothing
?• ZALU: Nothing
?• OLNC: Nothing.
?• Crime and Safety: Discussed increase in prostitution in TTNA area.
?• Toonerville Dog Park: Jodi discussed presenting the initiative to the other neighborhood. Brick thing
?• Old Louisville Yard Sale: 2 August. We have participated previously and there has been some interest in doing this again. Phil proposed using the Chapel for TTNA?’s yard sale. It was proposed that we do the yard sale as individuals. We discussed getting in touch with community bulletin boards. Phil will contact TV station and bulletin boards. Jodi can put sandwich boards on corners. Recommended that Dennis to bring bags and stationary. Recommended doing water and soft drinks. Phil will talk to Dennis. Phil to check with Lois Tash. We will be asking individuals to give a percentage to TTNA.
?• Toonerville Park Wall: Nancy Woodcock passed letter of support out the group to review. Nancy reported that she attended Second Street Association and presented the cost and idea to replace the cap and build the wall. Nancy indicated that we are half way to raising the $3,500 to pay for the wall and cap. Jackie Brown reported that she has been looking at grants and she will give information to Phil DiBlasi.
?• TTNA Newsletter Discussed doing another newsletter in September 2008.
?• Movies in the Park: Aaron reported that the subcommittee met and they are working with TTNA member, Kim Inge. Committee is proposing to have one meeting in September and others. Committee is considering businesses to sponsor the movies; considering Oak Street Pizza as a potential sponsor. Aaron reviewed the charges $600 to have old Louisville film association to project the movie.
?• Membership from flyers- We received one check for membership. Discussed doing this again by circulating the TTNA newsletter with the chapel newsletter.

New Business
?• Building Concerns:
o 1242 South Brook Street has become an eye-sore. Discussed that several complaints have been filed and PIC and Bill Schreck has been tracking the property. Discussed calling the councilman. Aaron reported that it is reported that this property will probably start at $200,000 per the bank.
o 1244 S. 3rd. Street it was reported that this house is going back to single family.
?• St. James Festival: Discussed if we wanted to have a booth. Phil will ask membership for ideas on having a booth. It was decided that we would not have a booth this year.
?• Toonerville Tote bags: Dennis Lisack has offered to match sales of the tote bags that are sold.
?• National Night Out- August 5th. Hugh Williams reported that in the past we have called Unsel and asked for a donation. We have shut down Ormsby in the past. Discussed talking about coordinating it on the corner of Brook and Ormsby. Proposed to close Ormbsy between Brook and Floyd. It starts @ 7 pm. We will be serving hotdogs and sodas and people brought side dishes. Mary beth # 802-3720 will call YMCA about inflatable.
