It has been sad watching the crews knock over the trees and strip the land at the corner of Tezel and Silent Sunrise. Our once serene back yard now has great views of the lights and traffic on Tezel. I am concerned about the kind of commercial development going in. Does anyone know what is planned for there?

It is a sad state of affairs watching the city of San Antonio make a mess of the area; I for one am really not at all happy with the progress of the construction all up and down Tezel.

Recent Developments

On November 6, 2007 the Developer requested a zoning change from C-2 (Commercial District) to C-2S (Commercial District with specific use for a Car wash. Three residents from Oak Crest attended this meeting with many concerns which included noise levels, lighting, security, flooding, etc. Be as it may, the zoning change was approved, but with our concerns reiterated by the Zoning Commissioner. The Developer agreed to meet and work with the residents to provide buffers, fencing, etc.

On December 6, 2007, this issue will come before the City Council for final approval. The developer has not made any attempt to negotiate with ant of the residents. Therefore we, the HOA's response is complete disapproval with the car wash addition. Plus we want to again reiterate our concerns with security, buffering, and possible flooding behind Waterford Oaks. If you are a concerned homeowner, which everyone should be, please contact Saren Spicer at 687-5499 before this Thursday’s City Council Meeting.

The Board will update the City Council's decision.

SELECTED RESIDENTS ALONG SUMMER TRAIL AND WATERFORD OAKS RECEIVED A NOTICE OF A CHANGE IN THE COMMERCIAL ZONING ALONG TEZEL AND SILENT SUNRISE TO ALLOW A 24HOUR CARWASH.

THE MAJORITY OF THE RESIDENTS NOTIFIED ALONG THE STREETS ARE AGAINST THE CAR WASH AND ANY OTHER 24 HOUR COMMERICIAL BUSINESSES ON THIS PROPERTY.

ALSO WE HAVE EXPRESSED OUR CONCERNS ABOUT SAFETY, SECURITY, NOISE AND LIGHTING.
