You sound like a "Tory"!  Tongue out

By the way, the 2nd amendment to the constitution was never about hunting, or self-defense.  It was always about being able to rise up and protect ourselves against an oppresive tyrannical central government.

A lot of people think it was to protect us from another nation.

They have confidence in the election system preventing a tyrannical U. S. government.

"The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government."  Thomas Jefferson

That is a false quote.   Check it out.

Unsubstantiated, but not yet proven false.   In essense it agrees with all the documented thoughts and explainations from our founding fathers relative to the 2nd amendment.  You are parsing and trying to disprove the theory by questioning a parsed bit.  Do some research relative to the founders and subsequent Supreme Court rulings.  You will see that the substance of the quote is true.

I don't like to see people go through life being misled by a lie.  The quote is proven false.   Accept it.

I've done some research and don't believe you're quite right.   There are court rulings that are contrary to your view.   You seem to grab on to research that supports your bias without questioning it and ignore the rest.   You're posting the false Jefferson quote is an indication of it.
