TAC Minutes for 7/25/99

MINUTES FROM JULY 25, 1999 MTG

TUSSING AREA COALITION
MINUTES FROM JULY 25, 1999 MEETING

Meeting Attendees:

Rick Jung, Brad Grimsley, Bruce Ribbans, Lennie Male, Donna Dugas*

New face: *Donna Dugas, resident of Park Place West/North. Her property abuts new apartments being developed at Hines/Tussing. Her e-mail address is: dugas.donna@emeryworld.com

I. Main focus was to discuss Agenda for meeting with Councilwoman O’Shaunesshy and members of Traffic & Engineering Dept. Meeting to be held this Wednesday, July 25th at 7:00 pm.

See copy of Agenda attached as Page 2.

II. Form Letters
Brad sent out two form letters to management companies of surrounding existing apartment communities, asking for their support. No response as of yet.

III. Media & Communication
Melinda has spoken with Scott Taylor of Channel 6; and has faxed him our list of concerns. He has not responded back as of yet. She will try to set up a face-to-face meeting with him. Donna has been assigned to the Media & Communications Committee with Melinda. Donna has a contact with John Ivonic at Channel 4.

IV. Traffic & Human Services
Bruce has obtained data concerning traffic comparisons between Tussing Road and Schrock Road (which is 4 lanes). We have nearly the same number of cars on a 2-lane. Bruce is getting additional information regarding number of cars comparison and traffic accident comparisons.

V. Newsletter
Lennie brought up the idea of circulating a Newsletter to let our neighbors know who we are and what we are doing. These would be done quarterly; or more often, if needed. These would be distributed as fliers initially throughout the neighborhoods, as well as posted on the new TAC website. Once people are aware of it, future issues will just be posted on the website. Lennie has volunteered to head up this project.

VI. Miscellaneous
Rick will contact either Forest Yocum (Superintendent) or Larry Signman (Asst. Super.) of Pickerington School District to see if either one would be available to attend Wednesday night’s meeting with O’Shaunesshy.

Brad with follow-up with Brian Schaeffer of City Traffic/Engineering.

Next TAC Meeting has not yet been scheduled. Will notify via e-mail or will be posted on our new website at www.neighborhoodlink.com/tac.
