MINUTES FROM JULY 14, 1999 MEETING

Meeting Attendees:

I. First order of business:
Election of Officers

President: Rick Jung
Vice President: Brad Grimsley
Secretary: Lennie Male
Treasurer: Scott Wade

II. Assignment of Steering Committee Chairs

Zoning & Development: Jesus Garcia
Media & Communication: Melinda Alic
Education: Daryl Miller
Safety & Public Service: Jennifer Sargent
Traffic & Human Services: Bruce Ribbans
Parks & Recreation: Doug Shevlow

III. Form Letters
Discussion of Pros and Cons to sending out form letters
Pros: Cons:
 Presents our Group Opinion
 May disrupt what we are
 May draw more neighborhood trying to accomplish
support by giving us a voice
 Might send wrong answer
 City Council will have no doubt to public, unless worded as to what we want carefully
 Will give evidence of our attempt to open communication with them.

There appeared to be a consensus to go ahead with drafting letters.

IV. Pending Issues/Follow-Up:

 OSHA – Bruce will follow-up
 CHP Development – Rick to follow-up on related issues
 Wetlands/Army Corp. issue – Brad will follow-up

 Hines/Tussing Apts. abutting residents – Jessee to have
PPWN Civic Association contact those residents to call with complaints regarding land grade difference from apts. to their backyards.

 Channel 6 Media Coverage – Melinda to get meeting scheduled and find out the format they wish to handle our issues. Brad, Rick & Melinda will handle media meeting.

 Pickerington School Support – Daryl to keep trying to get in contact with Forest Yocum, Superintendent.

 Police Support - Jennifer to work on getting police support (possibly Chief Jackson) in how they will handle coverage in the additional developments.

 Traffic – Bruce to attempt to get 2001 Plan documentation;although it appears not to exist. Ray Bushart, Traffic Contact; Lennie spoke with Scott of his Dept.

 Zoning – Jesse to get copy of plat for Hines/Tussing development. Jesse & Lennie to work on looking into OSU Extention Land Use Team to see if they would be of assistance to us.

 Form Letters – Brad & Lennie to work on putting together 2 form letters: one for prospective developers; one for
current development owners/management companies.

 E-Mail – Jessee to update everyone on new e-mail list.
