Newpaper/Phonebook deliveries

Posted in: Superstition Foothills

I am wondering is it just me or are there others who wish the papers and phonebooks and Avon and landscape companies would get a clue??

I do not want your "stuff" in my yard. I should not be forced to clean up after this nonsense.

According to Pinal County Sheriff, our HOA is the only authority that can prevent this? How about we make a way to identify the people that want this crap thrown willy nilly in their yards?? I for one am on strike -- I refuse to pick up another phonebook, newspaper, avon catalog whatever that is pitched without consideration for my home and property.

In my mind, this is littering!

  • Respect-O-Meter: Valued Neighbor

I have only lived in the neighborhood for  a year but really don't have a problem with the stuff I get tossed in my yard. We read the two little local papers that both come on Mondays and in every house i have ever lived in the new phone book arrives this way. Never have gotten an Avon book but if I did I might call the rep (name and phone #) usually on the back and let them know you would rather not get them. They are costly and they probably don't want to waste it on someone that isn't going to use it. The business cards that are thrownin the driveway or tucked in the door are a slight pain but I respect that the small business person is hustling to feed their family. On our street we have a couple of winter visitors and we all do our part to pick up the stuff that they get. This really isn't a bother.  It just seems like neighborly thing to do.
