GOLD CANYON SEWER COMPANY: It is very disappointing to me and all of those involved with this case that we still have not been advised of a date to hear the Administrative Law Judge’s Recommendations and final vote by the Arizona Corporation Commissioners. WE MUST SEND A MESSAGE TO CANDIDATES FOR THE COMMISSION THAT WE ARE STRONG AND UNITED. Please attend the Gold Canyon Community Association’s Candidate Forum to be held this Thursday in the Superstition Room at Mountainbrook Village. Please submit questions to these candidates. There has been much speculation among residents of the community that the ACC does not want to vote on this issue until the election is over. Three individuals will be elected this year to this five member Commission and could possibly be voting on this case. Unfortunately, current Commissioners have chosen not to run for re-election or their term in office does not expire this year; we will remember them next year if this is voted down!!!

GCCAU CANDIDATE FORUM: The 2008 Candidate Forum will be held on Thursday, October 9th in the Superstition Room at Mountainbrook Village. This Forum will be presented in two sessions. The First Session will be from 3:00 – 5:00 PM and will include candidates for the following offices: Pinal County Sheriff, Pinal County Supervisor, and Legislative District 22. The Second Session will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and will include candidates for the Arizona Corporation Commission and the Apache Junction Fire District.

EMERGENCY FIRE ACCESS LANE: As previously reported, Larry England (President of Mountainbrook Village) and I met with Supervisor Sandie Smith regarding the emergency access lane at the end of Cascalote. Supervisor Smith is having staff check to verify if it is an easement or right-of-way and what steps need to be taken to return this to the SFCOA. We will keep you posted on progress via updates rather than answering individual inquiries.

SILLY MOUNTAIN RESTORATION: SALT is gearing up to begin restoring the scars on Silly Mountain. Please remember to stay on the new trails! There is a lot of new and exciting news coming from the Superstition Area Land Trust – Stay Tuned!!!

BASHAS’ THANKS A MILLION: Please help fund the Silly Mountain Restoration Project by linking your Bashas’ card to the Superstition Area Land Trust. This must be done every year. Tell the cashier you would like to link your card to # 24805.
Thank you for your consideration.
