I attended the Town Council Meeting last night, 17 May and the following items of interest to Summerfield residents were discussed.
1. Mosquito spraying will start within a couple of weeks. The town had to order a new sprayer at a cost of several thousdand dollars and the chemicals that go with it. It should be delivered to the town clerk this Friday or next Monday.
2. Road work on Deatsville Highway will start sometime in June. There was a delay due to some bid problems but accorindg t the Mayor that is squared away now.
3. The budget report indicates that Deatsville Town is in good shape financially due to the 2010 census increase which allocated a lot more funds to the town due to the population increase.
