About our association

Utilizing our Resources

The Sulphur Springs Neighborhood Watch Association is made up of citizens and residence who are concerned about their neighborhood and the betterment of their community. The Association brings the community and the police together in a cooperative effort to solve the problem of crime.

Exchanging of Information

The police are aware that they cannot fulfill their obligation to the community without the help of the citizens. Citizens are encouraged to call the police when they observe suspicious activity and give whatever information they have. The exchange of information between citizens and the police is a vital link in achieving the desired effectiveness of crime prevention.

Participating in Crime Prevention

In order for citizens to actively participate in crime prevention, a need for eduction and familiarity regarding crime and law enforcement procedures exists. The Association works closely with the Tampa Police Department's Crime Prevention Unit which has developed a series of programs for citizens, including burglary prevention, personal protection, abuse and home security. These programs are presented at the meeting place of the Neighborhood Watch Association. The effectiveness and success of the Sulphur Springs Neighborhood Watch program depends on the continued participation of the citizens , and their working together with the police for a common cause, to better our community.
