Monroe School Recycling

Monroe Elementary School - One Stop Recycling!

The James Monroe Elementary School, at 4810 N. Linn, has two great recycling programs available to residents of Suggs Park Neighborhood!

Located on the northwest corner of the school is a big green and yellow paper recycling dumpster and located at the west door is a white smaller dumpster for donating clothing, household items, etc. See the following for more info on each!

This is an excellent fundraiser for the school!

Newspaper Recycling

Did you throw your newspaper in the trash this week? OH NO! We hope not!! There's a better way to dispose of your newspapers.

How many old magazines do you trash each month? We hope you don't fill your Big Blues with them! There's a better way to dispose of your magazines!

The "better way" is sitting on the northwest corner of the Monroe Elementary School's drive. Yes, folks....that big old green dumpster is what we're talking about.

The Daily Oklahoman newspaper has sponsored the folks at PaperRetriever to pick up recyclable newsprint and magazines. This dumpster is a money maker for the pick up locations (mostly schools) and helps keep the environment clean.

Let's all help our neighborhood school AND the environment by making good use of this dumpster for our old newspapers and magazines.

AND.....PLEASE, read the rules of disposing....don't throw in your boxes or plastic sacks!

Other Recycling.....clothes, household items, etc.

Sure you can call someone to come by and pick up your items of clothing or household things that you no longer need! But, what do they do with them? Do they take them and sell them? Sure!

How about instead of doing the usual, you take you clothing, household items, etc. over to the Monroe School and put them in the white dumpster at the west door. You can put a note with your name in the bag and they'll mail you a receipt for your taxes!!

You'll feel good about recycling your things and about helping the kids at Monroe School, too!
