Strang Line

You live in a nice neighborhood and think you are safe from crime. You should not have to worry if you forget to lock your car door. We have a teenage son so we have to keep one car in the drive overnight. Last night will be the forth time someone took items out of the car.

I don't know who would want to steal a HS students backpack. I think we need to get together a neighborhood watch. Something must be done. Maybe we need to have police patrol a few times in the evening.

I am worried it is all going to get worse when the weather gets warmer. What can we do.

I was really pleased a few months back when an e-mail went around about an incident that happened. I noticed the next day some strange activity going on in a house that was for sale. We watched the house but then noticed that we were not alone. We saw several neighbors that started watching too. Not long after that my husband and another man started checking out the activity. It turned out to be nothing but was pleased at how everyone pulled together.

It is nice to hear that folks are watching out for others. I guess we need to find a way to keep our eyes open to things that happen in the middle of the night.

I also feel we should either have a neighborhood watch or contact the city to step up patrol particularly during the night. I have lived in surrounding areas my whole life and never have I seen such activity. It is appalling that we have continued issues like this. I would agree that once the weather warms up we are in for another round.
