St.Charles/Lodo Neighborhood Group

With the new pre-school innitiative passed (up to $8000.00 per elligable student) maybe Rosedale can afford to reopen even with elementary enrollment at low levels. Put a high emphasis on achievment at the preschool level and maybe more parents would stay the course at Rosedale through their kids elementary education. Staying closed should not be an option.

Rosedale school

I think it would be very valuable to have an elementary school again closer than the 'neighborhood' schools of Asbury and McKinley Thatcher, but I doubt that the people at Rosedale when it was open would say they didn't try and put an emphasis on 'high achievement'. If Rosedale is to reopen it should take a lesson from the changes going on at Grant Middle to help repair that schools reputation. How does a closed school even start the process to reopen, unless the school is taken over by another..such as the case of Baker Middle (?) which is now a Denver International school. Does anyone know what the school is being used for. I see SWAT team cars over there often...is it a training ground?

Apparently the city has recently started to look at the possibility of reopening Rosedale.

 

Unfortunately, it is considered to be the smallest school around, and small, to them, means uneconomic.
