I was wondering if anyone knows information about the proposed addition of tot lots and other play areas. Directly behind my home (I live off of Louis Lane) there is an open space that the belongs to the Town of Middletown- I think that the developer gave it to the town when the intial town homes were built. The town of Middletown cuts the grass there - very sporadically (most of the time all of the neighbors have to chip in and mow out to the sidewalks because the grass gets so high). I was wondering if they have any plans to add a play ground or some trees there.. Something? Who would I contact to find this information out? I'm guessing I'd call Lenape Builder's office? There is only one tot lot in the development and I thought there were plans to include more around the townhomes? I have a small child and I'd really like to see this happen soon.
open space answer

Middletown Village, believe it or not, is almost 50% open space! We have a soccer field, the areas around the pond, a large area of woods and a stream, and 5 tot lots scattered around the development to date.

The Civic Association last year obtained grant funding and planted 68 trees in Doc Levinson Park and the 4 tot lots on Vincent Circle. I encourage you to walk over there to see them. The tot lots are a great asset for families with small children, and with the trees, they look great!

We have also applied for grant funds this year to plant trees at the soccer field and at one of the ponds.

I don't know exactly which area you are talking about, but the civic association can certainly look at doing something in any of the other pockets of open space that don't yet have designated uses. Please come to civic association meetings (2nd monday of every month), tell us your ideas and get involved. The Town of Middletown has been very helpful with the projects we have done so far, and I hope to keep them going year after year!

I am interesting in a single family home in middletown village. I would like to know what the plans are for the space behind woodlline drive? Currently its open flat land. Is it going to stay that way or are there plans to build more homes back there?
