For 2003 fall tree planting--70 trees (targeted for 10/25/2003)
For Springbrook Park Awareness Day
*May 2003 Implementation of Springbrook Park Trail Plan
$60K city project to complete fully complete trail work per March 2002 update
*Initial Draft of Springbrook Park Resource Management Plan-September 2003
*October 2002 Tree Planting--251 Trees
125 Western Red Cedar, 125 Douglas Firs (3-foot) and 1 signature Douglas Fir (6-foot)
Original proposal was for 50 trees, able to negotiate for 251 trees, more than 5x's initial estimate
Funded by 2001 Neighborhood Enhancement Grant
Involved Boy and Girl Scouts, Uplands Elementary, and neighbors to support the planting
*January 2002 Boy Scouts Eagle Scout project to construct a sign at the Wembley Park Road entrance to the Park
*Summer 2002 Traffic Safety Improvements for Wembley Park Road--added missing signs, additional safety markings and signs. City agreed on all SPAN requests for safety improvements.
*2001 SPAN Web Site Implemented
*2001 Neighborhood Enhancement Grant Award - $1000 (Trees for the Park)
*Mobilized Opposition to Tennis Center Expansion and amendment to City Charter 2000-2001
*Coordinated with City to add Sidewalk near Tennis Center for safety
