Alright... this is the second time my recycle bin being stolen from my front yard. It is hard to believe people living in a $300k+ neighborhood could steal such a cheap item.

it was probably the santa ana winds that took it.

those were near 50mph the other day.

take a walk/take a hike around, i'm sure you'll find it.

Might want to ask your neighbors along the street.  I've found recycling bins in my yard and in the street by my house several times during windy weather and have just stuck them out there near the street so people can claim them if they belong to them.  Maybe some of your neighbors stuck them in their garage/backyard?  Doesn't hurt to ask.  By and large, I've found most people here very honest - I think they mostly don't want to be cited for having bins in their yard that blew in.

Good luck!

I live in a dfferent neighborhood, but our apartment recycling bins AND garbage cans are continuously being stolen...and they AREN'T being blown away, we've looked for them.  I can't figure out why.
