WAL-MART Update

Phase One Complete

September 30, 2005:

The lag in activity at the Wal-Mart site is a result of the completion of Phase I of the project, i.e., adding roads, sewers, lights, infrastructure, etc. Phase I is now complete.

Phase II will begin soon, and that will be construction. Wal-Mart is still in the final permit process with the city. Once those permits are issued, things will move pretty quickly. Wal-Mart always has and always will work on its own schedule. Rest assured, it is coming.

Once phase II begins, we will be about 12 months from opening day.

The other tenants are still in the negotiating process. It is impossible to confirm who the smaller box retail tenants will be at this time. All we can tell you is that they are the ones that usually move into developments like this one. The odds are, one will have the name "Pet" in its title, and another will most likely have "Maxx" as part of its. Again, none of this is confirmed yet.

The Wal-Mart itself will look different than most of them do. If you are used to the boxy look, this will be a little more understated. If you have seen the Wal-Mart on SE 82nd in Portland near the Clackamas Town Center, ours will look more like that one.
