Dogs

Feb 15, 2000

Dogs can be an important part of our lives in this community. However, they can also be a nuisance to others in our neighborhood. Please be aware of your neighbors when handling your dog.
When leaving your dog outside unattended for hours, check with your neighbors to find out how the dog behaves while you are away. It is not fair to your dog or your neighbors for the dog to bark or cry for long periods of time outdoors.
The City of Longmont will issue tickets to irresponsible dog owners, if they are reported. Please do not ask your neighbors to choose between selling their homes and calling the police.
While walking with your dog, please remember to pick up after your dog. There is a city ordinance requiring clean up and it is one way to be a good neighbor.
