                 SHEFFIELD WOODS COMMUNITY  NEWS LETTER

                 January 2025

COMMUN ITY MEETINGS?    Since COVID, we have not been able to meet at the Fire Station across from Grassy Creek Park. At this time they are doing some internal construction. I hope eventually we will be able to have meetings there. Until then we will be using the website to update our residents. Unfortunately the email service we were using deleted all the email addresses so this and the nextdoor sheffield woods site will be the only way to communicate.

Crime Prevention: We encourage all residence to be proactive in crime prevention.(1) When not at home, put on a light, turn on a radio; make it look like someone is at home Mostbreak-ins occur in the daytime, when a burglar figures no one is home. (2) Be observant;  if something doesn’t look right, it probably isn’t.  Call 911.  A very positive change has been the number of home and door bell cameras in use. This has been  great deterent in preventing vandalism and crime.

MAYORS ACTION CENTER:  If you have any issues, such as code violations, missing signs, abandon vehicles, or just questions you might have about issues that you would like to get assistance about, call the Mayor’s Action Center (317-327-4622) and they can direct you to the right expert. Also, you can go on-line and submit any request for pothole issues or high grass.

WHAT’S UP WITH GRASSY CREEK PARK:   With the backing of our new City Councilor, Rena Allen, the parks department assured us that any broken water apparatuses at the spray park would be fixed before spring/summer. Last year they repaired the drainage system, painted the apparatus items, and fixed the drainage issue. We will keep an eye on that, but feel free to call anything in(concerning the park, to the Mayor's Action Center. .

TRANSPORTATION IS AVAILABLE:    If you have transportation issues and ia way to get to doctor’s appointments, grocery stores and other businesses, Pathway services might have the answer for you. They have started a min-bus transportation system that can be used by all in the Warren Township area.  For more information, go- on line to www.driven2success.info, or call 317-890-1624
