A quorum was present. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm.
1. Introductions.
2. Approval of Minutes - The minutes of the meeting of March 4, 2003 were approved.
3. Treasurers' report - Current balances are the following; checking-$1569.37; savings-$2282.09; savings certificate- $11576.32. Total = $15427.78.
4. Announcements.
George reported on the following;
-The two new homes on Entrada.
The large and illegally sized real estate "For Sale" sign on Entrada (for the two new homes) was reported and the Realtor has been notified by Building and Safety that it will have to come down.
A discussion ensued regarding this sort of development in the Canyon.
Motion was made seconded and passed that George shall sent a letter to the Los Angeles Department of Parking expressing our opposition to issuing temporary parking permits in Red Zones such as on Entrada.
-Local Residential Development Plan. The concept of a local area residential development plan was discussed and George will contact Cindy Miscikowski’s office to identify an individual to discuss this with the Board.
5. Annual meeting planning.
-The SMCCA annual meeting will be held on May 6. Officer Ragsdale and Alejandro Ortiz have confirmed their participation and Councilmember Miscikowski has been invited.
Mailings will go out to all current and past [2002] paid members, by email or US mail as paaropriate. Emails and announcements will be sent out in the next few days. We will also try to get announcements in the Santa Monica Mirror and in the Pacific Palisades Post.
-A task list for the annual meeting was presented and volunteers were assigned to each task.
6. VNOC.
-The VNOC meets next week on Tuesday at 6:30. The cost estimates process has not been finalized yet.
7. Nominating committee report.
-The Board has 23 out of 25 of its positions filled.
8. Rustic Canyon Park Tree planting.
-George and Leslie walked the park with Los Angeles Recreations and Parks representatives. The date for park tree planting to begin is Sunday, May 04, 2003.
9. Santa Monica Canyon Traffic Study update.
- There was no update on the Traffic Study, but there was a discussion by the members on speed humps and the process to have them installed. George said that the issue of speed humps on Amalfi would come before the Pacific Palisades Community Council in May.
10. Membership.
-We currently have 196 paid members with 23 our of 25 board positions filled.
