March 4th the Mailout of VIA-Trans voucher survey was done at SAILS. Thanks to all who helped. Allen reports some responses have already come in! Follow-up calls will be made and results analyzed.

March 11th the MPO Presentation that was held at SAILS went very well. Thanks to Mary & Julio of SAILS for hosting and Donna for arrangements. MPO?’s Joanne Walsh & Scott Ericksen covered the local MPO history & function and invited SA-JTA members to participate in the coming updating of their 25-year plan. Discussed possibility of Co-Sponsoring the Pedestrian Safety Workshop in May during National Hike & Bike Month.

Citizen Forum on Transportation Planning

(south of King William Neighborhood & SouthTown District across street from Brackenridge(Wheatley) High School)
The focus is: The Federal 3-Year Review of Local MPO Use of $20 Million-A-Year in Federal Funds and How SA Citizens & Groups Can Advocate for YOUR Transportation Needs
*Please invite individuals and organizations representative of people likely to have concerns about transportation. With the tight timing, emphasis will be on networking to promote attendance. The SA-JTA will provide light food and beverages, as well as coordination of the event, with assistance from the Texas Citizen Fund, and Smart Growth San Antonio will provide the meeting space.
