Destruction of Century-old Trees on Holbrook Rd

Posted in: Salado Creek Foundation

As residents of Holbrook Rd along Salado Creek, we recently witnessed SAWS and Kimley Horn Contractors destroy 4 historically significant trees - all of which were over 200 years old!  The trees were destroyed to allow for construction of a 72" wastwater line being installed along Salado Creek.    In the planning process, our neighborhood association requested the trees be saved, and were told they would be protected.  However, on 8/16, the four trees were bull dozed down.

Can anyone in your organization support us in our appeals to SAWS to protect any remaining historically significant trees in the path of the project?  please contact Catheryn Ladd at catherynladd@yahoo.com.au  .  we are trying to set up a meeting with SAWS to discuss and would appreciate the support of the Salado Creek Foundation.  Thank you!
