Welfare Ban for Drug Felons Harms Children

The LA Times reports on a study by the Sentencing Project of
Washington,
DC, which found more than 92,000 women -- 40 percent of them in
California
-- have been barred from receiving funds under the Temporary Assistance
for Needy Families program because of their drug convictions.
