The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the Agency for Healthcare
Research and Quality (AHRQ) has released a patient fact sheet entitled
"20 Tips to Help Prevent Medical Errors in Children". The sheet is
intended to inform parents to help their children avoid medical errors.
The fact sheet is broken into categories such as medicines, hospitals
stays, and surgery which include a variety of tips concerning different
aspects of a child's medical care. These tips prompt parents to ask
more questions and to become more involved in the diagnosis of their
children.
