CHIP ENROLLMENT INCREASED IN FY 2001

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced this week in a State Children's Health
Insurance Program (CHIP) Annual Enrollment Report that the number of children ever enrolled in CHIP
increased from 3.3 million in fiscal year (FY) 2000 to 4.6 million in FY 2001, an increase of 1.3 million or 38
percent.
