Facing the Hard Facts of Education Reform

This Educational Testing Service information brief argues that
standards-based reform is in danger of becoming simply a testing
movement
instead of a way to find out if new content standards, rigorous
curriculum
and teacher preparation are producing results. In addition, several
essential elements of school reform may be getting too little public
attention: preschool opportunities, family and community resources, and
making good use of increasing computer access.
