Work surveyed 8,536 low-income Los Angeles parents about their barriers
to
employment and the services they most need to become self-sufficient.
Barriers cited by over one-third of the respondents include child
care,
education, job experience and skills, housing, transportation, and
limited
English. Needed services, say over half the respondents, include the
creation of good jobs and help finding them, child care, education, and
