Improving Emotional Health of Chronically Ill Children

Children with chronic health conditions are often suffer psychological difficulties as well. Research reported in the Archives of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine found that family support interventions led to modest improvements in the adjustment of children with different chronic health conditions, and was especially useful for children who, because of chronic illness, have low self-esteem.
