(5) Gateway Foundation Accepting Applications for Education
Technology Program

Deadline: Ongoing

The Gateway Foundation has announced that it is accepting
applications for its Teach America program, which seeks to
provide teachers with the skills and knowledge they need
to enhance student learning through the effective use of
technology.

Through Teach America, the Gateway Foundation awards online
training subscriptions to schools, school districts, and
other educational institutions. Grant recipients will have
unlimited access, for twelve months, to more than 250 online
instructor-led courses or self-paced tutorials. Courses
range from Web publishing and word processing to exploring
the Internet.

To be eligible for a Teach America grant, applicants must
be a nonprofit K-12 school, other nonprofit educational
institution, or a teacher affiliated with such an institu-
tion; be able to demonstrate a need for technology training;
submit a brief plan for using technology to enhance class-
room instruction; and complete an online evaluation of
Teach America upon conclusion of the twelve-month grant.

For complete program information and an online application
form, see the Gateway Foundation Web site.
