Dear Children's Advocates:
The CHILDREN'S ADVOCATE NEWSPAPER is looking for examples of successful,
innovative grassroots activism to profile in the future editions of the
"Grassroots Snapshot". "Grassroots Snapshot" profiles local or statewide
grassroots efforts that are making a difference for children and families.
Please call or e-mail me ASAP if you have any ideas or leads for the
"Grassroots Snapshot." It's a great opportunity for activists around the
state to share examples of successful grassroots efforts in their
communities with a statewide audience of 30,000 CHILDREN'S ADVOCATE
readers!
Past Snapshots have profiled:
* Nevada County child care providers host a Job Shadow Day for the business
community (Jan/Feb 2002) http://www.4children.org/news/102shade.htm
* An LA child care center that turns parents into environmental activists
and educators (Sept/Oct 2001) http://www.4children.org/news/901ninos.htm
* A Nevada County effort to build an intergenerational community center
(July/August 2001) http://www.4children.org/news/701ctr.htm
* A Los Angeles community organizing campaign helping family child care
providers resolve payment problems with R&Rs (May-June 2001)
http://www.4children.org/news/501acorn.htm
* A Santa Clara coalition wins health insurance for all kids (Mar-Apr 2001)
http://www.4children.org/news/301ins.htm
Thanks to all of you who emailed or called with ideas in the past.
Take care,
Erica
