YOUR ACTION NEEDED: ENCOURAGE YOUR ELECTED OFFICIALS TO COSPONSOR/
ENDORSE THE ACT TO LEAVE NO CHILD BEHIND
The Act to Leave No Child Behind (S. 940/H.R. 1990) was introduced in
the U.S. Congress on May 23, 2001. This important federal legislation
incorporates policies and programs proven to improve children's lives,
including many proposals that have been introduced separately by
Republicans and Democrats in the U.S. Congress. Support from advocates
in all states is vital to the passage of these important measures.

Additionally, it is important for state legislators to support this
legislation as a way to underscore the support for children in the
states. We need advocates to email their state legislators and let
them
know that they can play a role in moving this piece of federal
legislation. Visit
