Be a Head Start Volunteer

Welcome to the national Head Start public service advertising campaign "Nurture the Future: Be a Head Start Volunteer." Launched in 1996 and sponsored by the Advertising Council and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, this campaign distributed an array of TV, radio, newspaper and consumer magazine material to approximately 30,000 media outlets nationwide.

Ad slick (681KB) A sample of an actual magazine ad targeted to medical professionals.

Yellow Pages ad slick (15KB) Very Important! Please take this ad to your local yellow pages publisher. Have them add your program's name and phone number, and place in the "H" section under Head Start -- no matter what your organization's name is -- so interested volunteers know where to find you.
