How can I help control the fall cankerworm population? The City of Charlotte is asking citizens to help control the cankerworm population by banding trees in their communities. ?  Through the City of Charlotte??™s Neighborhood Matching Grants Fund, neighborhood organizations can apply for up to $3,000 to assist with banding trees in their community, including those located on private property. There is NO income eligibility to receive a Tree Banding? Program Neighborhood Matching Grant; you simply must be located within or adjacent to the Cankerworm Infestation Area.? ?  ?  Grant applications will be accepted August 16th through October 21st.
