Election of SCCAA Treasurer:
As we continue to grow as an organization we have found that we need to elect a Treasurer to serve on the Executive Committee.

Amend SCCAA By-laws:
Our By-laws need to be amended to reflect the addition of the Treasurer position. This was made into a motion and passed unanimously.

Election of SCCAA Treasurer:
Nominations were taken and Ken Ray was the nominated individual and has been unanimously voted in as our SCCAA Treasurer.

City of Covington Memorial Day Parade:
The SCCAA has been asked to participate in the City of Covington’s Memorial Day Parade. After discussion it was decided that due to the Safety Fair Planning we would not have the time to get ready for this parade. The SCCAA has decided not to participate this year.

Replace Company 5 Covington Fire Department Door Bell:
The firehouse front door bell is not functioning. As a show of appreciation the SCCAA has volunteered to fix the door bell. Ken Ray and Larry Tichenor volunteered to get this completed for our fireman.

Ward System – Andrea Holland:
Andrea Holland is representing South Covington on the Ward System Committee. She has provided questionnaires that allow citizens to voice their opinion on the current ward system. Please complete and turn into Andrea as soon as possible.

Comments from the Chair – Nancy Ray:

▪ Covington Commissioner, Steve Megerle has expressed that he would like to see docks go in on the lakes in South Covington. As these lakes are private property the SCCAA does not believe that this is good for our community. A vote was taken and Nancy will let Commissioner Megerle know that we are not in favor of this idea.

▪ Looking for different speaker ideas for future meetings. If you have someone you would like to see visit our SCCAA meetings please let Nancy Ray or Andrea Holland know.

Comments from City of Covington Ombudsman – Suzann Gettys:
Covington has updated their ordinance for garage/yard sales. The new ordinance states that a permit is required and the cost will be $10.00 for an individual or $50.00 for a neighborhood. If you have any questions please contact the City.

Covington Police Department – Office Dave Hoyle:
Officer Dave Hoyle stopped by to answer any questions or concerns that the citizens of South Covington may have. The following items were discussed:
▪ Private property issues
▪ Why does a police office have to witness a misdemeanor being committed to do anything?
▪ Traffic issues – speeding, running stops signs, etc…
