Rolling Acres Neighbors

Community Enhancement Grant Award

Neighborhood Signage

Rolling Acres Neighbors got some good news Saturday, November 22. The Mayor's Office of Neighborhoods awarded us a $4,227 grant that will allow us to put up eight signs around the neighborhood. Each aluminum sign on a steel post will feature our logo, which shows the Nashville skyline above a cluster of trees, in a distinctive "cutout" design. They'll identify the neighborhood and say that it was "Established 1941." We plan to put them on Eastland at the Porter and Riverside intersections and on each of the streets that comes off Eastland. We don't actually have the money in our hands yet, but we should in January, and we'll be able to install the signs between then and June. Special thanks go to Dale Jankowski, Krista Malloy, Diana Naisby and Eric Zavattero, who served on the grant committee with me; to Cecil Herrell, an expert on these kinds of things who provided invaluable assistance; and to Kate Jankowski for tweaking the RAN logo a bit so it could work on a sign. We're looking forward to having the signs in place to identify our community for years to come.

Thanks,
Michael Cass, RAN vice president
