This year we are prepared for the Hunting Season with DNR.

The woods with trails along the creek are NOT PUBLIC areas. They are owned by the Neighborhood Association.

We have small children, dog walkers, exercisers, and so on walking those trails. We do not need Hunters Hunting with Bow and Arrow and Shotguns on our trails. We (Our HOA) would be responsible if someone did get hurt. I hope we have appropriate insurance on these areas.

We also have neighbors feeding the deer. That's all good until someone hunts where the are being feed. It is AGAINST THE LAW and DNR will be contacted if it accures again this year.

I always wondered if anyone hunts back there by the creek. 

If I'm not mistaken, didn't the Parks Department take control of that area within the last year?  I don't think the Association owns that creek.  I think the City does.  I could be wrong.

Someone *should* be hunting there, and in Dicky Luger's property on the other side of Mann Rd.  Have you stopped to look at any of the deer that get creamed on Mann road every year?  The whole area is desperatly over-populated.

I do agree that feeding deer in your yard is stupid.  Unless you plan to kill and eat them.  Then I say more power to you.

They have control of the water (the creek).

But some hunters have come far out from the creek and actually into the common property. Common property is regulated by the neighborhood covenant. I found arrows in areas we pay to mow. Are dues alos pay for the wide open space to be mowed.

I am aware of the creek regulation but I'm talking about 15 feet off our backyards.

That is not leagal. Yes, and obviously there is no control on the private property across Mann Rd.

There are just many hunters that where born and raised around here and still do not want to give up there areas even though they are not all public or the state's anymore.

I help build these neighborhoods and have copies of the land from many sources.

I used to work with a builder and many several developers around.

Our lives and children's lives should not be at risk for hunters that bait and hunt illegally and do not where any orange and hunt after the sun sets. These are all current practices in our area.

Of course, I understand that it's not currently legal to hunt in that area, regardless of who it's controlled by.  In fact, the Parks Dept. has a reputation for under-hunting and under-managing the property under their control, to the detriment of all parties. 

And of course, I agree that illegal and unethical hunting practices should be prosicuted to the full extent of the law.  Personally, I go to great lengths to obey all of the regulations when I hunt.

My point is, the deer herd in our area is a traffic hazard, and should be reduced through controlled, legal hunting.

I understand that you don't want your kids getting shot up.  My position is that a responsible bow hunter does not pose a danger to anyone, even in a populated area.
