A couple of questions I should probably know

I got a post card in the mail from the beautification committee, I know I should be more up to date on what this is, but can someone let me know what this is?  To me the post card read that I have room in my yard to add some trees with suggestions where to put them and if I send in a request that there is some money that may be available to help.

Is this the case?  I just submit my request to the name/address on the card and I could possibly get some trees?  When would I know if my request is going to be fulfilled?

Also, what is the status of the drainage pipe at the main entrance of Shelbyville Rd.?

Thanks,
Patrick

Patrick,

Due to the loss of so many canpony trees in Bellemeade the city formed a Beautification committee to help restore some of them. We hired an arborist to survey the city for the condition of the canopy over the streets.

There is a limited amount of money available to help residents prun - remove or plant canopy trees. The money will be divded among those who apply by the deadline of January 31,2009. You will recieve a reply from the Beautification Committee after January 31.

As to the culvert at Bellemeade and Shelbyville we have engaged a company to replace all of it - work to be done in January. The culvert is cracked all the way through and is in the process of colapsing from the west side.

Thanks for asking.

The Beautification Committee hired a Arborist to look at all the canopy trees in the city of Bellemeade and let the neighbors know what condition there trees are in. We have a tree ordinance that is posted on our homepage go to the community pages click on ( More) then click on Beautification in Bellemeade and it will explain more to you.

Bellemeade will help remove, trim,  replace or plant a new canopy tree in your yard.

I have received bids on the drainage pipe and they have been accepted. The work will be started Mid to late January. The start and finish date will be posted and signs will be placed at the entrance of Bellemeade Road in advance to the start of the work.

Thank You I hope this answered your Question.

If you would like to call me at home and talk more I will be glad to talk to you.
