Outside Appearance

Posted in: Big Bear Farms
I started this as a proper thread as it continues from the front entrance theme.

To reiterate from past posts it seems reasonable that the appearance of each of our homes has a great deal to do with perception of BBF thereby influencing our property values.

I really think it?’s fewer than 20% but hard to ignore them when you see tall grass in yards covered with weeds, cars parked in the streets, some for weeks at a time and others that leak oil, and poorly maintained homes. So if 8 or 9 out of 10 homes are well maintained what can we realistically do about the other 10-20% that bring down the neighborhood?

Can?’t we begin to set a minimalist standard? Can we get a committee to oversee this? Is this a trustee issue?
APPEARANCE

Nothing you can do! Its the trustees job. If a car is leaking oil, there is really nothing you can do about it. My car leaks about 10 drops of oil per month. I am not fixing a minor issue like that. I think a little oil in a drive is a minor issue. I believe there is a magazine called 'picky people' You might want to go buy an issue.

This is an HOA issue. I firmly believe the only way to control this, is for there to be a Fine system in place. Nothing harsh, but you have to send a message that non-compliance of the rules will not be tolerated, if not, you will continue to slowly see the deterioration of this neighborhood.
leaking oil

You are taking comments from the previous poster out of context. Everyone knows what they were saying, that yards and homes are not being maintained ,according to the Covenant we abide by. Would you like your next door neighbor to raise chickens or plant corn, next to your house ? You see the point ? without rules ,there is Chaos.
