Portland Preservation Alliance

Who we are and our plans

We are a group of current and former residents who want to see the history of Portland remain for future generations. We work for Portland by:

1. Participating in activities that promote the heritage of the neighborhood.

2. Exploring ways to stabilize structures until purchasers can be found to restore or rehabilitate them.

3. Awarding individuals for their work in preserving Portland.

4. Create a handbook that will teach people how to find out how old their homes are. With documentation, we will offer the opportunity to purchase a plaque that will have the Portland Preservation Alliance (P.P.A) logo and will tell all that this home is historic.

5. Since the Portland Neighborhood Plan has been approved and is being implemented we will be following the guidelines listed for preservation.
